It is my painful duty to inform you by direc-
tion of Mr Secretary Harcourt, that a telegram has
been received from the Governor of Hong Kong reporting
that your cousin Mr William Dobbs, Overseer in the
Public Works Department of the Colony, was accidentally
drowned in Australia on the 18th of April. Mr Harcourt
desires me to express his sincere sympathy with r
Dobbs' relatives.
2. No further information is at present in
Mr Harcourt's possession but any details that may
reach him will be communicated to you without delay.
